A Fascinating Read about Aeron Lifestyle Technology Co-Founder and CFO Monica Hadley.
Perhaps nothing spells success like being the sole subject of a chapter in a book about entrepreneurship. Aeron Lifestyle Technology, Inc. Co-founder and Chief Financial Officer Monica Hadley is just that entrepreneur.
Monica’s journey as a five-time business founder/owner/operator began when she was thrust into a do-or-let-it die situation with the sudden death of her father, owner of a business that manufactured equipment and sold supplies to commercial sprout growers, where Monica was employed as the bookkeeper. She was 22, mother of two, and without the benefit of a college degree. Monica’s mother and family were dependent on the business. It could not fail.
Monica’s rise to success came to the attention of fellow entrepreneur Hal Goldstein who has collected and compiled stories about entrepreneurs who practice Transcendental Meditation®, .
The business was left to her younger brother, who already had his own sprout-growing operation. Together they took over the operations and got a sink-or-swim education in every aspect of the business from sourcing to sales.
Since then, Monica has either founded or been involved in building five successful businesses and two non-profit projects which either fill a market need, improve on an existing idea, or create a new product.
“Starting a business based on a new idea is the hardest way to go,” she notes in her writing, later revealing the three words which have come to define her, “never give up.”
“If you can show the universe that you mean business and nothing can stop you, the universe will take note,” she says.
Indeed.
Founded in 1996 with inventor/partner Jeffrey Smith, and relaunched in 2000 with current CEO Patrick Kosar and President Nate Orme-Johnson, Aeron has combined steady growth in product offerings, revenue, and personnel to earn the company a position on the leaderboard in the fragrance diffusion and other lifestyle products markets.
